Michigan's gubernatorial candidates unofficially kicked off the post-primary campaign season last week by appearing for the first time at the same event on the same day.  

That event: None other than the first-ever Sandbox Party convention at Breslin Center on the campus of Michigan State University.

More than 5,000 early childhood advocates and children were on hand to hear the candidates speak.
