ECIC supports a broad-based advisory committee on the issues of child care and early education. The goal of the Child Care and Early Education Advisory Committee is to provide advice that will inform ECIC’s work to:
- Support the local Great Start System infrastructure
- Advance the Great Start System result: Children are ready to succeed in school and in life
- Increase knowledge regarding evidence-based practices
- Development recommendations for innovative early childhood policy
- Provide education to the public to increase public understanding
- Increase public and private investment
The committee focuses on young children’s early learning experience and how those experiences influence development, and how these experiences may be impacted by an early childhood system.
Committee Objectives:
- Members represent the diversity of Michigan’s population
- Members have a shared understanding of the contributions each makes to the success of the Child Care and Early Education component of the early childhood system
- Members engage in generative dialogue that informs the respective work of membership
- Members collaborate on projects of shared concern.
